Our Story
The ministry of First Baptist Church has traditionally valued an active and vibrant ministry with teenagers. There are current church members who are now in their 90's who directed the student ministry when they were younger adults.  So the tradition carries on with caring and qualified adults investing in the lives of area youth, grades 7-12, in our youth building we call "The Lighthouse".  Drew Simcox became the Assistant Pastor at FBC in August of 2013 and he is assisted by many selfless volunteers who make our youth ministry possible.

Youth Group - Sunday's 6 - 8pm
Each week, students in grades 7-12 gather at the Lighthouse youth building on the corner of Crafton & Walnut Streets in Wellsboro in a safe environment to have fun and engage in authentic relationship with fellow students and caring adulsts.  One of the goals of our ministry is for students to navigate the challenges of adolescence surrounded by a healthy peer group and adult role models who are actively investing in the next generation.  A typical night includes group games, singing, relevatn Bible teaching, group discussion and food!

Sojourners - Wednesday's 1 - 5pm
Sojourners is our weekly opportunity to serve in our community.  We are often helping individuals and ministries with our wiling hands and hearts.  We realize that Jesus didn't come to be served but to serve (Matthew 20:28), so we are following His lead by showing others His love through acts of kindness to our neighbors in need.

Teen Sunday School - Sunday's 9:00 - 10:00am
Group Discussion, Honest Questions, Biblical Conversation, Bible Teaching, and Insightful Videos are what you can expect at our Teen Sunday School class each week.  We meet at the Lighthouse to discuss relevant topics through our Answers in Genesis curriculum.

1 Thessalonians 2:8 "so we cared for you. Because we loved you so much, we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well."
